May Arts:: Valentine's Day Hop

Love is in the air with a special Valentine's Blog Hop from May Arts! The Ribbonistas have many lovely projects to get you inspired for the special day. My first card today uses the satin cut-out hearts in an unconventional way (these are discontinued but the technique works for all the amazing satin cut-out ribbons available at May Arts-check out the EX line!). I laid out three rows of these sweet hearts over a custom painted watercolor cardstock panel and applied some Shimmer Creative Medium from Imagine Crafts over the top. When the medium became slightly tacky, I slowly peeled the satin hearts from the paper and was left with a cool embossed background. I applied some distress ink around the edges and onto the panel to bring out the hearts a bit more. I then applied the panel to a kraft cardstock base, die cutting a heart, and stamping a sentiment from Lil' Inker Designs. I finished the card by wrapping some May Arts natural burlap string (SM10)  around the card and tying a bow right over the heart!

My next card features three colors of the really popular May Arts Adhesive Sequin Hearts (A478-15)! This card was soooo easy. I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn, tied three strings together of the May Arts Black Burlap String together and then adhered them to the card using the Adhesive Hearts as balloons!

I hope you have a chance to enjoy the hop and be inspired, as always there is a giveaway! Two winners will receive some ribbon, comment along the way and at the May Arts Blog!

LID:: January Release:: Day 3

Welcome back to the third and final day of the Lil' Inker Designs January Release! As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies, I hope you enjoyed this sweet release! You should have arrived from Jen's Blog!

I'm so excited about these two products! My boys went coo-coo over the Robot Builders Stamp Sets and immediately wanted to stamp some little guys of their own. I created a tooth-friendly Valentine with the Lollipop & Pencil Treat Holder Die and the Robot Builders Stamp Set! Love how you can mix and match and create your own robot! I wrapped the pencil with some May Arts Silk Ribbon, so it will be really easy for the recipient to untie the bow and use the pencil.

LID: January Release:: Day 2

Welcome back to the second day of the Lil' Inker Designs January Release! As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies! You should have arrived from Jen's Blog!

Ooh, I think today's card is so cute! I started with a white card base and then used the new Cover Up Die: Center Point Chevron to create some cool chevrons and then die cut a flag from the Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag Die Set. (I also added an extra orange detail on the bottom of the flag from the same set!) The chevrons lead to a cute little sentiment and picture from the new Perfect Pairs Stamp Set. I wanted to change this from a Valentine's card to an anniversary, engagement or wedding card so I added the die cut word "you" from Mini Envelopes and Accessories Die Set. Love that this set can extend beyond Valentine's Day!

LID:: January Release:: Day 1

It's the first day of the Lil' Inker Designs January Release and I'm positive you will love it! As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies! You should have arrived from Jen's Blog!

I have two projects to show you today! I started by creating a custom, patterned background with the new Quilted Swirl Stitch Pattern Die. I then trimmed a bit off the bottom before mounting it to a white card base that was stamped with a sentiment from the new Smooches Stamp Set. I finished the card with a die cut heart and the lovely, swirly and dainty new Doodled Love Word Die!

My next card features a kraft card base that has the added detail of a slanted stitch from the new Stitched Mats: Side-Stitched Rectangles. I then cut a sentiment panel with a smaller die from the Side-Stitched Rectangles set and stamped it with a sentiment from the lovely Love is All You Need Stamp Set. I finished the card with two cute banners from the new Hearts Banners Die! I colored the hearts in with markers and added a black drawn line.
