SWAT Teams & a Silver Bird
Cole: Yup, and we were packed in like sardines.
Chase: What are sardines?
There are many ups and downs to be a parent to two, lively and very imaginative boys. When they told me that they practiced hiding in their closets in school today, I almost didn't believe them. Upon questioning further (and then remembering the informational email sent a few days back from the principal), I found that they were having an emergency response drill...that it was cool that the police were present but not the SWAT team. We live in a town of 600 people, I think there are two policemen and definitely not any SWAT team. Had to explain what the SWAT team was. While I'm proud that our school system is being proactive, I'm also saddened that their these drills are now part of their education.
Aren't the colors from the latest inspiration image at Cloud 9 just amazing? A touch of class, a touch of sparkle and certainly sophistication, all with a little bit of rustic for good measure. I used the die cuts and stamps from Love Birds from Wplus9. I die cut the bird out of adhesive backed cardstock and then covered it with silver glitter, he rests on a line of May Arts burlap string (the rustic for good measure). The branches were die cut then stamped and arranged behind the resting bird, and lastly, a sentiment from the same set was stamped directly onto the kraft cardstock base.
Today's Tip: If your card is in need of a bit of interest, arrange a die cut to hang off the edge. Cut your card base slightly slimmer than the standard so it still fits into a regular envelope.
